Thank you for your suggestion.. but I think it's about the 5th post like that now and I will reply with the same reply I did before. I'm not kicking up a fuss that I can't, it's not about whether it's akward. I just wanted to ask about information on whether it was possible.

I'd actually prefer it if the fix ArenaNet put in went more like :

Go to Armis, he says...hey, you can get a second profession, what do you think?

Then you can say, no, I'd rather not and have the quest complete and then tag you as being ready to Post. Or say, ya sure sounds like a lovely idea, sign me up.

If you don't complete this quest with him, either accepting the second proffession or denying it, then you wouldnt be able to post. Thus preventing noobies from acidentally posting with one profession. That is if they bother to read the options

Otherwise, seems silly to try to use a loophole to get around the requirement. but I've been tempted myself to do it. Because I like the idea of a single class. I like the idea of dual class as well. With so many choices in this game, why limit us with this one. so what if you dont need to use the second profession. It's rather besides the point.

Now if anyone could confirm that you can join another player who has two professions and slip past Tydus with only one.....

You can never truely be unique in ANY game. If you can do it so can someone else, and particularly if they like the idea, they will copy you. Significantly more poeple take advantage of that second class then dont, so while you cant be unique, you can still not be like most everyone else. Theres nothing wrong with wanting to be a little bit diffrent from everyone else. Just because we all like blue doesnt mean we all have to wear it see? A visual token thats a little bit diffrent from everyone else is an amplification of the personality. That alone should tell you quite a bit about a person.

I dunno. I'm apt to believe that the ranger is probably the best suited class for single professioning in. Rangers are the most diverse, and when you have a single class that generally can only excel in one area, having one that can do everything is a great way to change and evolve over the course of your PvE adventure. Some may say that though the ranger is a jack-of-all-trades, he/she is a master of none. To be honest, I've found that rangers can be just as good as any other class in their methods. A ranger can match a mesmer in distruptions, can hit hard for aoe almost as hard as an elementalist, and can definitely deal out single target damage like a warrior can. Not necessarily the "right" opinion 100%, but I have found that this side of the argument has its valid points.
